Polycarbonate is a plastic material that is very durable and shatterproof. Some people are surprised to learn that most airplane windows are made from polycarbonate.
Washing polycarbonate drinkware in the dishwasher must be on a quick cycle and temperature must not exceed 75 degrees. Failing to do may result in the product crazing or cracking. We recommend you purchase our polycarbonate cleaner as this will help maintain the product longevity.
No. All our plastic polycarbonate products can withstand accidental drops over and over again without breaking or cracking! We offer full replacement for all polycarbonate products that crack or chip.
No. Our product will not go cloudy. We do recommend that you purchase our polycarbonate cleaner as this will help avoid cloudiness. The main reason why polycarbonate goes cloudy is due to the cleaner being too harsh on the plastic or the product is left to drip dry. Using polycarbonate drinkware around mosquito repellents containing DEET can lead to product damage.
DEET, a common active ingredient in certain brands of insect repellent, has been shown to react with plastics, including polycarbonate.
This reaction can result in the drinkware becoming discoloured, hazy, or even developing cracks. Such cosmetic and structural damage can compromise the overall quality and aesthetics of your drinkware, making it less enjoyable to use.
To maintain the integrity and appearance of your plastic polycarbonate drinkware, we advise to exercise caution and check your mosquito repellents for DEET.
Our polycarbonate and glassware products are dishwasher safe. Some of our barware products are also dishwasher safe but please read the product specifications to confirm the product you are interested in is actually dishwasher safe. If you are unsure, please give us a call and we would be happy to assist.
